Summerlin has been the best-selling master-planned community in the nation for nine of the last ten years. The site for Summerlin is 36 square miles of Clark County land stretching from the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley to the foothills of the Spring Mountains. This construction also includes seven miles of residential roads and five miles of arterial roads, two golf courses including the 18 hole championship private Tournament Players Club at Summerlin and the 18-hold daily fee course, Tournament Players Club at the Canyons. Summerlin is also home to the world's first Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear's Best Las Vegas consisting of replications of signature holes from Nicklaus courses throughout the United States and Mexico. There are currently fourteen village parks and more than 85 neighborhood parks.

The balanced land use plan for Summerlin Las Vegas includes reserving a significant portion of the land for open space. The master plan integrates elements essential to a total community including diverse residential properties, office parks, retail centers, recreational facilities, medical facilities and cultural and civic centers alongside neighborhood schools and playgrounds.

Single-family homes are available in all Summerlin villages. Condominiums are available in The Canyons, The Arbors, The Willows, The Pueble, The Crossing, and The Trails. The Ridges and Willow Falls also offer custom lots.
