The latest Las Vegas homes and real estate news is that the market continues to soften with only 1,787 new home sales in February, 2006. This is 0.5 percent less than in the previous month and 12.3 percent less than during February of 2005. Additional news from the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors shows that Las Vegas new home prices for February are $349,999 which is 0.6 percent less than in February of 2005.
Additionally, the total number of Las Vegas homes for sale increased dramatically during February, 2006 to a total of 17,675. This represents a 25.9 percent increase from February of 2005 and a 7.2 percent increase as compared to January, 2006.
On the other hand, Las Vegas condo and townhome sales have increased. The 484 condo and townhome sales in February, 2006 represents a 6 percent increase of this same period in 2005. Prices of condos and townhomes have increased 9.1 percent over the last twelve months to $196,450.
