Echelon nets high marks from realty trade groupWomen's Council of Realtors tours suburban mid-rise developmentSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE, www.LVNewspapers.com . Apr. 09, 2006 About 200 members of the local chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors participated in a recent tour of three mid- to high-rise residential developments in suburban locales. Among the properties they visited was Echelon at Centennial Hills, a mid-rise condominium development in the northwestern Las Vegas Valley. "We wanted to give people variety and show that there are alternatives to the high rises on the Strip," said Mari-Kay Mellinger, council president. "Echelon fills a niche in a very popular location. The thought of getting away from it all and experiencing the northwest's serenity behind the privacy of a guard gate really strikes people." Eleven floor plans are available, ranging from 1,064 to more than 4,000 square feet with as many as four bedrooms and terraces designed for year-round use. Prices start from the high $300,000s to more than $1.5 million. "You can be downtown and have small or you can be out in the suburbs and have large," Mellinger said. "There is very little you can find with the amenities Echelon includes in the price range it offers." Planned amenities include subterranean parking, direct-access elevators to four floors of residences, courtyards, landscaped paths, and WiFi and Intranet access. Residents will also have exclusive use of a two-story clubhouse with a pool, social rooms and fitness center. Additional satellite pools, a tennis court and a basketball court are also planned. Lynn Stringer, events chairperson and treasurer for the council, lives in the area and was familiar with Echelon before the tour. "Echelon offers more of that contemporary New York or Chicago look with clean artistic lines," Stringer said. "It all comes down to pricing and product. Echelon has both as key selling features." Royal Construction Co. is general contractor and one of the developers. Reservations are being accepted for the second of six buildings. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 north to the Interstate 215 (Las Vegas Beltway) West exit, go to Durango Drive and turn right. Proceed to Deer Springs Way and turn left.
